Frequently Asked Questions
What happens to my Open Mesh devices after February 1st, 2026?
After the End of Service date, cloud management and monitoring will no longer be available. This means you will not be able to:
Monitor devices or connected clients
View traffic statistics
Make configuration changes via the Plasma Cloud Console
However, your Open Mesh devices will continue to function normally. WiFi clients can still connect, and devices will provide Internet access same as before. However devices can no longer be accessed via the cloud.
Can I still access my Open Mesh devices via SSH after the End of Service?
Yes, if SSH was enabled on your network before the End of Service date, you will still be able to access your devices via SSH.
However, please note:
Plasma Cloud will not provide support for SSH access after the End of Service.
Customers may continue using Open Mesh hardware at their own discretion, but without assistance from Plasma Cloud.
My Open Mesh hardware still works well. How can I continue using it?
If you’re comfortable running your devices without a cloud management service, you may choose to install a free, open-source firmware such as OpenWrt.
Things to keep in mind:
Installing custom firmware requires technical expertise and a time investment.
Open-source firmware can help extend the life of your hardware, but Plasma Cloud does not provide support for this setup.
While you will have to handle the firmware maintenance, security fixes and configuration yourself, there is no additional cost.
